Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Artists Association, the "Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China - the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts and the Third Chinese Fine Art Awards" was held in the China Art Museum. The Chinese Fine Art Awards is the most authoritative and influential national highest award in China's art circle, which is produced from the National Exhibition of Fine Arts. The Third Chinese Fine Arts Awards selected only 37 works from the nominated works of the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, including 9 gold award works, 14 silver award works and 14 bronze award works. The work of Mr. Shi Yuejun from the Arts College of Henan University stuck out from other wonderful works in this high-level prize. "National Art Exhibition" is held every five years. It is a national comprehensive art exhibition with the longest duration, the largest scale, the widest range of participation and the largest variety of works in China. It is also a major event in the literary and artistic circles of China. Over the past 70 years, the National Exhibition of Fine Arts has been actively promoting the modern development of Chinese art and leading the direction of art innovation. It has launched a large number of popular and widely spread classic art works, united several generations of artists who are both virtuous and artistic, developed and expanded the Chinese spirit, gathered the power of China, and made great contributions to the prosperity and development of fine arts for China. The mosaics work "Ode to Red Star" by Professor Shi Yuejun of the Arts College of Henan University won the bronze award of “The Third Chinese Fine Art Awards” in this years’ exhibition and award.
