On the morning of November 19th, the Arts College of HENU held the fifth round of discipline evaluation and promotion meeting in the conference room. This meeting was in accordance with the requirements of Henan University. Its aim was to finish the fifth round of discipline evaluation and promote "Double First-Class" construction. By summarizing the current situation of our college’s discipline construction, we can further promote it. Yang Jiangtao, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Arts College, Dean Xi Weiquan, Vice Dean Ma Lixia, Chen Xu and Wang Shengsong, Peng Xichun, Director of the Public Art Education and Research Department, department chairs and core teachers attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ma Lixia.
Xi Weiquan pointed out that the faculty and students of our college should improve ourselves with high standards. Great emphasis should be paid and consensus should be built. We have to fully realize the importance of the fifth round of discipline evaluation, work together, and make strategic adjustments based on the fourth round of discipline evaluation to lay a solid foundation for greater progress. He pointed out that the evaluation indicators of the fifth round have changed, compared with the fourth round. Now we pay more attention to improving the quality of talent training and improving the system of ideological and political education to guide students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs, establish a coordination mechanism for ideological and political work, and effectively provide ideological and political system support for the "Double First-Class" construction. Resolutely refuse to use “scores, going to a school of a higher grade, degree, essays or titles” as the only evaluation criteria. There also have been major reforms in highlighting the contribution to social services. Meanwhile, it is emphasized that each discipline should pay more attention to the collection and summarization of typical cases of social service.
Ma Lixia interpreted the guidance of the fifth round of discipline evaluation in details, and made specific arrangements. Working groups were established, and personnel tasks were divided, which will help to summarize the strengths and weaknesses of each discipline scientifically, and improve overall planning. The departments of the college must coordinate and cooperate, strengthen communication and contact, and effectively implement various tasks. The tasks should be divided into detailed ones. We should go all out to do a good job in the evaluation.
Yang Jiangtao summarized that the evaluation is of great significance to the college. All majors should tell their own stories, do their best to do the evaluation work, and learn from the evaluation to promote the development. He put forward three requirements for the next step. First, focus on the target and make careful arrangements. Study the evaluation index and integrate resources. We should dig in-depth high-quality content which can highlight our characteristics, key points and bright spots. Second, strengthen leadership and implement responsibilities. Discipline evaluation management mechanisms should be established, and responsibilities should be clarified. Third, always keep the work discipline in mind when working, and treat this evaluation with a rigorous work attitude. Hope to achieve good results in the fifth round of discipline evaluation.
